Bangkok Dusit the biggest winner at IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia

Thai firms dominate this year’s South East Asia Awards

Bangkok Dusit Medical Services (BDMS) took home five trophies from the IR Magazine Awards – South East Asia 2018, including the gong for best overall investor relations (large cap).

Ajaya Intaraprasong and Chama Thepchatri of the Bangkok-headquartered BDMS, which runs a network of hospitals and clinics across the region, also share the award for best investor relations officer in the large-cap category.

In addition, the firm won the best corporate governance & disclosure category, best in sector for healthcare, and the best IR in Thailand award.

StarHub, which this month sees Jeannie Ong step down after 17 years, took home another of the night’s most coveted awards: best overall investor relations (small to mid-cap) as well as the best in sector award for communications.

The best investor relations officer award in the small to mid-cap category went to another Singapore-headquartered IRO: Caroline Fong of Manulife US REIT

While Thai firms dominated the awards, taking home 20 trophies last night, Philippine firm Ayala Land racked up a close second to BDMS in individual wins, with four in total. The Makati-headquartered company took home the best in sector for real estate and best IR in the Philippines awards, as well as two trophies from the judged awards: best financial reporting and best IR website.

This year’s rising star award went to James Bywater of Hi-P International in Singapore, while the award for best IR by an SGX Catalist company was taken by United Global.
