People moves: Lufthansa’s head of IR soars to C-suite and Orange promotes in-house

New IROs also join Marinomed in Austria and US manufacturer Terex

Dennis Weber, formerly head of investor relations at Lufthansa Group, has flown to the C-suite at the German airline operator’s subsidiary Swiss International Air Lines.

Weber, who began his career at adidas, more recently headed the IR team at HUGO BOSS from 2010 to 2018, and has served as Lufthansa’s IR chief since 2018. From May 1, he will serve as CFO at Swiss International Air lines, as Oliver Buchhofer becomes the Swiss carrier’s chief operating officer from the same date.

Moving into Weber’s role is Marc-Dominic Nettesheim, currently head of mergers and acquisitions at Lufthansa. A former staffer at Dresdner Bank, KPMG and Bankhaus Metzler, Nettesheim joined Lufthansa in 2012 and becomes head of IR on May 1.

Meanwhile in France, Constance Gest will take over as head of investor relations and financial communications at telecommunications firm Orange from April 1, adding the responsibilities to her current role of sustainability finance director.

She replaces Patrice Lambert de Diesbach who, after 13 years within the finance department, has decided to leave Orange to pursue a personal project.

Laurent Martinez, Orange’s CFO, says: ‘I am delighted to welcome Constance as head of investor relations. Her career and experience within the group’s finance department will be of great value to analysts and investors as we deploy our strategic plan, ‘Lead the Future’.

‘I would also like to sincerely thank Patrice for his unwavering commitment to the group and the outstanding work he has accomplished over the years. I wish him all the best for the future.’

Austrian biopharmaceutical firm Marinomed Biotech has brought in Lucia Ziegler as its new head of investor and public relations, as of March 2024, taking over from Stephanie Kniep, who leaves the role but will remain ‘associated’ with the company.

Ziegler has been heavily involved in building Marinomed’s public relations and social media department over the past three years, and now takes responsibility for the Wiener Börse-listed firm’s shareholder communications.

‘With IR and PR activities under one management, we bring together what belongs together. We create the conditions to make our stakeholder communication even better and more efficient,’ says Andreas Grassauer, CEO of Marinomed.

‘Lucia has already set important accents in the perception of Marinomed by redesigning the website and further developing the annual report.’

Finally, NYSE-listed industrial manufacturing company Terex Corporation has announced the appointment of Neil Frohnapple as its new vice president of investor relations. A former sell-side equity analyst, Frohnapple joins the firm from The Timken Company, where he has served as head of IR since 2019.

‘We are delighted to welcome Neil to Terex,’ says CFO Julie Beck. ‘He will be responsible for spearheading our investor relations strategy to deliver value for Terex shareholders. He will collaborate closely with the Terex executive leadership team to align our strategy, communications and investor outreach efforts.’
