Award-winning IRO Julie Dewey has taken up a new role as chief investor relations and communications officer at Orthofix Medical, a Texas-based healthcare company that specializes in spine and orthopedic treatment.
An experienced IR professional, Dewey previously served as chief communications and investor relations officer at Treace Medical Concepts, prior to which she was the long-serving senior vice president and chief communications officer at medical device firm Wright Medical Group, which was acquired by Stryker in 2020.
At Wright Medical, Dewey won the IR Magazine Award for best IRO at a small-cap company five years in a row between 2014 and 2018, and was selected as one of IR Magazine’s 30 stars in 30 years, an initiative that celebrated leading IR professionals from the previous three decades.
Throughout her career she has also been heavily involved with NIRI, the US IR association. She sat on the board of directors between 2016 and 2019 and was among the first cohort that earned the association’s Investor Relations Charter four years ago.
In her new position at Orthofix, Dewey reports to president and CEO Massimo Calafiore, who hails Dewey’s ‘vast knowledge of our markets, technologies and growth strategies’ as he welcomes her to the company.
‘I am thrilled to join Orthofix in this new leadership role at such a transformational time in its growth trajectory,’ says Dewey of her appointment. ‘I look forward to working with Massimo and the rest of the Orthofix team to execute on the company’s growth strategy and deliver a best-in-class experience for the investment community and key stakeholders.’

The Vancouver, British Columbia-based mining company says Parilakova’s ‘multifaceted skills in finance, investments, geology and mining, paired with her creative approach to investor relations’, make her a perfect fit for the new role.
An experienced IR professional, Parilakova has been working in the mining sector since 2011, including IR positions at Global Minerals, Eros Resources and Southern Empire Resources.
‘We are excited to welcome Lubica to our team,’ says Barry Brown, director at New Destiny Mining. ‘Her extensive experience and proven success in the mining industry will be invaluable as we continue to grow and strengthen our relationships with the investment community. We look forward to her contributions to enhancing our corporate communications and expanding our investor base.’
