Notified and IR Magazine have created a hands-on guide offering IR professionals a view on what their peers are doing with artificial intelligence (AI), how to get started with the technology and where it can best fit into an IR program.
Pulling data from in-workshop surveys, polls and exercises held in Toronto, New York and London, IR Magazine has gathered qualitative and quantitative information into checklists, tips and advice IROs can use to start taking action on AI today.
The guide looks at the potential and the challenges involved in incorporating AI into an IR program. IR Magazine put questions to Erik Carlson, COO and CFO at Notified. We asked him about the process of creating the playbook.
‘We’ve brought so many IROs together and folks in the IR community to really serve as a think tank and a collaborative group in a number of global cities,’ he says.
‘Our goal in partnership with you is really to take the best of those findings from the three different sessions, marry them together with a little bit of research and really give a practical user guide back to the IR community.’
When asked what key things IROs needs to be equipped with when starting a journey with AI, Carlson says the first step is ‘putting fear aside’.
‘AI is not going to replace an IRO,’ he says. ‘I tell everyone: AI won’t replace you, but someone who can use AI will.’
